This was a commissioned piece done for a dear friend. Lucy was a sweet, sweet dog that had a very long and happy life. 

 

My friends beloved fur baby lived a long and beautiful life. When she passed of old age her girlfriend commissioned me to make a portrait of Lucy. She had such a cute face and gentle spirit. Capturing her personality was extremely important to me.

We met for a birthday lunch for her, and her girlfriend surprised her with it. I think we all cried. It was such an awesome moment!

 

When this piece was presented to the owner it brought tears to her eyes, and in the end, we were all teary. 

Doing someone’s pet is always an honor, I take great pride in the detail and trying to capture the spirit and personality of their companion.
